Pre-LEED 2009 USGBC/GBCI Website Blackout

Just wanted to forward the message that all USGBC and GBCI hosted websites, including LEED-Online, will be down for the count from 10 pm EDT on Friday, April 24th through 1 am EDT on Monday, April 27th in order to load up the new software for LEED 2009 systems.

Do me a favor and let's all cross our fingers, pray to our various god(s), and generally send out good technology vibes in the hopes that when this is all finished that the notoriously faulty online portals will be a thing of the past! Of course, Real Life LEED will still be here to help you through your withdrawal...

Oh man, are you going to be okay?!

hope for the best, expect the worst. Unfortunately for the USGBC, based on past rollouts, its usually the latter.

Why do I have the sinking feeling that the site is going to crash within the first week?

Why do I get the sinking feeling that all of the stuff we put up there for our 2.2 version project will magically disappear?

well, at that point all hell breaks loose.

But even pessimistic me doesn't see that happening because they are separating the two sites. I think LEED-Online 2.0 will be completely separate from LEED-Online 3.0. Unfortunately, the new site will still be built on the crappy Adobe Livecycle platform though.

Have you seen the ENORMOUS agreement you have to accept to use any version of LEED-Online now? What is that all about?

I just scanned thru the agreement. It looks like it's mostly a CYA document for USGBC and GBCI to avoid lawsuits. Heavy on the legal speak with a 'take it or leave it' terms of use. I didn't see anything earth shaking in there. Just think it's odd that it's on the v2 LEED On-Line too.

On the plus side, this agreement should cut down on the number of head hunters sending me e-mails with job postings after getting my info from the list of LEED AP's.

I had my fingers crossed....to no avail. After logging in to LEED online yesterday, I (along with others from my office) was kicked out and can now no longer access my account. I also tried to upgrade an existing NC2.2 project to v3.0. No dice. While customer service has been very nice, they have no answers for me. This morning I still can't access my account which makes it difficult to complete a task since this is what I do all day! Aghhh!
